“We live in the ‘V’ in Pennsylvania”

This is a quote from my four-year-old. He knew his alphabet pretty much from when he could talk and taught himself to sound out words before he turned 2. At four, he can competently read on his own, he knows the rudiments of multiplication and division, as well as all fifty states and capitals. It took him less than three weeks to learn the states and capitals. When he encounters a new idea, he becomes myopic to understand it. We have been ferociously busy this summer. The weather has been excessively wet for the last twelve months. August-June, our rainfall was 20% above average. The weather seems to be turning as we’ve managed about ten straight days without rain. I have hope.

Here are some shots of the most recent **UNFINISHED** project.

The car should be done by Tuesday. It is supposed to rain Wednesday. Rain has ruined this car painting project a staggering five times. There is a sense of urgency.

We also made a Sunflower-themed room in our house:

Our very own Statue of Liberty

************AN UPDATE WITH THE FINISHED PHOTOS*********

I finished the car the week I made this post last year, early August, 2025. Here are the finished photos. I later gave the car away. I met someone who needed a car, and I confess, I hadn't really used it much. I miss it a lot, though. I hope the new owners take good care of it. If you see it driving down the road, honk and think of me.
