Four Years Later

So, maybe life got a little away from me. Maybe I moved three times. Maybe I got married. Maybe I'm just not the best at keeping a blog running. Here's an update on four years of Manifest Destiny:

In June, 2011, I moved from Anchorage, AK to Milwaukee, WI to see if I could keep a promise. I did.

In November, 2011, I took a job which was going to totally change the direction my life was headed in. It did. This job moved me from Milwaukee, WI to Vernal, UT. I drove an empty U-Haul with my packed MINI on a trailer (so I didn't risk damaging her again).

In January, 2012, I got my CDL-A with air brakes, combo, and X. I consider this to be my higher educational conclusion; the validation I had been pursuing through the six semesters of college I had attended was satisfied without a degree. To date, I have no further collegiate aspirations.

In June, 2012, we made good on our promise and got married. Many family members made it to WI for the impromptu wedding. Everyone was amazing at pulling things together in three weeks. Our honeymoon was moving my wife from Milwaukee to Vernal. The drive wasn't much easier the second time.

In December, we started to seriously explore the National Parks of Utah and Colorado.

In January, 2013, I realized that Utah was a wonderful place, which I loved, but it would be too hard to start a family there.

In July, 2013, I finally got the go ahead to transfer to Pennsylvania. Living in the crazy half of the U.S. again. Started missing the West as soon as I crossed the state line for the first time.

In February, 2014, my wife and I found out we were pregnant.

In May, 2014 I sold my MINI and bought an antique: a 1998 Subaru Outback. I love it.

On September 15, 2014, I got to meet my son.

That basically catches everything up. Work is kinda nuts, but only kinda. I'm progressing towards rediscovering the life goals I've let fall by the wayside these last four crazy years. I'm unofficially painting again.

Tabletop

I have been working on refurbishing and custom finishing discarded and "found" tables. It is really neat to see the junk get turn...
